Centre and State Governments prefer corporates, says Dr. S.Q.R.Ilyas...

Dr.S.Q.R.Ilyas, General Secretary, Welfare Party of India made a scathing attack on the central and state governments for their pro-corporate policies at the expense of the common people. While inaugurating the two-months long state-level agitation named “people’s rage against governments not letting the citizens to live” at the historic Putharikkandam maidan here, Dr. Ilyas alleged that the governments were withdrawing from vital service sectors like health and education and were going back from the concept of a welfare state for which the independent nation was created, resulting the emergence of two kinds of citizens in the country.

The Party General Secretary came down heavily on the governments for its “developmental terror” policy by forcefully evicting people without providing proper compensation and/or due rehabilitation. Their lands are being taken for peanut prices and given away to mafias and multi national companies and corporates. Dr. Ilyas also asked the central and state governments to bring out a white paper on all terror acts as it has been proven now that most of these terror acts and blasts were “false flag” and innocent youth of certain community were harassed and put behind bars for years. Many of them were exonerated by the courts after lengthy and costly legal battles. The public meeting was held after a procession attended by thousand of party workers.

National General Secretary P.C. Hamza, National Vice-president Fr. Abraham Joseph, State President Dr. Koottil Mohammedali, State General Secretaries K. Ambujakshan and Abdul Hakeem, State Vice-president Prema G Pisharati also attended the function. As part of the two-month long agitation rallies and processions across the state, door to door campaign, vehicle rallies etc will be taken out.
