Welfare Party of India Davangare District Committee women's wing organised a program to distribute blankets to the residents of Ramakrishna Hegde nagar and Shivanagar slums. Most of the 150 beneficiaries were women.

A memorandum was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Davengere district drawing attention towards the inhuman living conditions of the inhabitants of these slums,where the shanty dwellings provided no protection from the biting cold during this severe winter.
Welfare Party of India district office bearers demanded rehabilitation of these slums dwellers and allotment of proper pakka houses.
