Welfare Party Of India Delhi State Chapter Formed

New Delhi, 3 February, 2014: The Delhi chapter of Welfare Party of India came into shape at an impressive gathering presided over by Maulana Abdul Wahab Khilji, the national vice-president. Dr. Tauziuddin (Ranjit Nagar) has been elected as the president of the state unit. The other office bearers are Mr. Thakur Vijay Singh and Mrs Mahamuduha Majid as vice-presidents, Inamur-rehman as  secretary-Organization, Sultan Salahuddin, S.O. Azmi, Mrs Afshan Siddiqi all as secretaries and Mr. Naufil Khan as treasurer. Mrs Mahamuduha Majid has been given the responsibility of party’s women wing, Mohd. Faizan of the youth wing. A working committee of 22 members have also been elected.

Dr SQR Ilyas, national general secretary while addressing the participants reminded that the party is not just an addition to the existing 1000 plus registered political parties in India, but a movement to promote value based politics, to provide justice to all and to abolish social injustice. WPI will not be satisfied with mere changes of hands in the politics, but want to see fundamental change in the political system of the country. We want to bridge the growing gap between rich and poor.

It was decided to launch a campaign to highlight national problems and  pressing issues of the state.

National secretary Dr Taslim Rehmani and the newly elected state president Dr Tauziuddin also addressed the conference.
