New Delhi: 28th December 2014.  Welfare Party of India asked Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to extend the provision of Rs 5 lakhs compensation being distributed to Sikh riot victims to all victims of all riots.
While appreciating the Home Minister’s statement at the function held at Tilak Vihar of West Delhi that it was genocide, Welfare Party of India national general secretary P.C Hamza urged him to use the same yardstick for every riot, at least to all major and mass riots in recent years that brought heavy loss to human lives and properties.
Welfare Party asked the Union Home Minister to write letter to all Chief Ministers, as he has done in the case of Sikh riots, to distribute the enhanced compensation of 5 lakhs to the victims of all major riots that happened across the nation, particularly of Moradabad (1980) Nellie, Assam (1983) Ahmadabad (1985) Bhagalpur (1989), Bombay (1993), Gujarat (2002), Kandamahal, Orissa (2008) that were also nothing but genocide.

In response to Rajnath Singh’s statement while distributing the compensation that until the guilty people are punished, victims will not get relief, Welfare Party of India reminded him that the same question is raised by all victims of every riot, small or big. It is his constitutional and administrative responsibility to ensure that all guilty people of all riots are booked and brought before the law of the land.
Welfare Party of India general secretary also asked the Home Minister to set up grievance redressal committees under retired judges for all riot victims where they have still not been adequately rehabilitated as he has done for the 1984 riot affected people. P.C Hamza asked the Union Home Minister to use same yardstick for all riot victims whether Hindu, Muslim, Christian or Dalit and treat all at par.
