New Delhi: 5th February, 2015. Welfare Party of India strongly criticised the high handed wrath of Delhi police on peaceful protesters gathered at Sacred Heart Cathedral for taking out a march towards the residence of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to air their grievance . Party national general secretary P.C. Hamza in a statement said the Delhi Police and the Union Home Ministry miserably failed in preventing attacks on religious places especially churches in the national capital. It is quite natural to invite strong reaction from the Christian community when their five churches were vandalized in two months. Dragging protesters including priests and women and bundling them into buses is barbarian style of Delhi Police. It is to be condemned in the strongest language,” the statement continued.

Welfare Party demanded to withdraw cases against the protesters, action against police officials for their high-handedness, to provide protection for religious places and to constitute a SIT to probe attack on the churches.
