New Delhi: 3rd September, 2015 K Ambujakshan , National Secretary of Welfare Party of India, slammed New Delhi Municipal Council's (NDMC) move to rename Aurangzeb Road after late President APJ Abdul Kalam. He was inaugurating a Dharna conducted by party Delhi unit in front of central secretariat, Delhi. The recent road renaming is a very unfortunate measure since it is widely regarded as first step in a campaign to rename historical places and roads on communal grounds. Sangh parivar is trying to delete all coutural heritages of Muslim, Dalits and Adivasis. In India still its remaining many roads with the name of British colonial heroes. They have no objection about it. He also accused the Arvind Kejriwal government for being party to the decision. We thought Kejriwal is a secular person. But he now proves that he is not so secular to tolerate Indian cultural heritage. He demanded to roll back NDMC’s decision to rename Aurangazeb road. Party have no objection to build a new road with APJ’s Name. Welfare Party Delhi unit president Mr Siraj Talib, National secretary Sajeed khalid, Delhi General Secretary Sultan Slahudin, Secretary Mohd Arif are also delivered their address. Party delegation submit a memorandum to Delhi chief minister Kejriwal.
