With aggressive communal and divisive agenda, BJP pushing the nation to total anarchy, Welfare Party of India

Ahmedabad: 22nd April, 2017 Welfare Party of India national caravan started from 1st April from Kota Rajastan, with the theme of “Democratic Resistance to Fascism” concluded here in Ahmedabad.

Presiding over the public meeting at Shahid Veer Mangal Pandey auditorium, Party national general secretary and caravan vice-captain, P C Hamza accused that the BJP with its aggressive communal and divisive agenda was pushing the nation to total anarchy. "The societal cohesion and human brotherhood that took many years of hard efforts for cementing bond among the citizens and for strengthening the feeling of oneness is being shattered to ruin. Communal disturbances are on the rise in states ruled by the BJP and especially in UP after Yogi Adithyanath took reins as CM. People are being segregated as Ramzada and Haramzada on the basis of whether supporting the BJP or not. Posters and propagandas are made against a section of the society to leave their ancestral places in UP and go to Pakistan. The present BJP governments at the Centre and states that are ideologically driven by the RSS are responsible for this alarming development.

Constitutional values are being diluted and the institutions are under threat. Opposition parties are not given their due democratic space. Parliament couldn’t function as it should have been. Election commission, CBI, Niti Ayog etc are slowly falling to government control. Even defense forces are being used for political purposes.

Cow terrorism has shaken the entire nation and innocent people belonging to a particular community are being targeted. Pehlukhan of Haryana even after possessing valid license to trade cattle including cows was killed by cow vigilantes. The cow terrorists must explain why it is not applicable to Alkabeer and other beef exporting companies.

Our universities and other centres of higher studies are boiling with the restrictions imposed on genuine democratic rights of the students and academic liberty of the teaching community.

We got overwhelming response, people in thousands attended in many programmes, met socio-political activists and leaders. Many people appreciated the Party for coming forward and taking up this important issue,” he continued.

“Welfare Party finds that the fissure and division brought by the communal polarisation politics is highly alarming and it may be irreparable. Branding all those opposed to BJP as anti-national is highly condemnable and this version of nationalism has no place in democratic India.

While diverting people’s attention from real problems by resorting to emotional issues, pro-corporate and pro-rich agendas are being implemented.

Welfare Party feels that a strong movement is needed to counter the polarising politics posed by the Sangh parivar. Like-minded socio-political movements will have to come together for this. The Party Federal Working Committee will finalise the follow-up actions of the national agitation, “ he added.

The public meeting was also addressed by national secretary K. Ambujakshan, Mujtaba Farooq, former national president, Mohd. Shafi Madni, state president, Indukumar Jani, Editor, Naya Marg, Harinesh Pandya, social activist, Yogendra Sngh Chowhan, senior journalist, Dr. Surendra Paal, state vice president, Ikrambaig Mirza, state general secretary.
