New Delhi(15th August 2017): Welfare Party of India strongly demanded Yogi Adityanath to step down from the UP CM post owning moral responsibility for the heart breaking death of nearly 80 children of the Government BRD hospital of Gorakhpur due to lack of oxygen supply.

Party national president Dr.S.Q.R. Ilyas in a statement said Yogi must seek an unconditional apology before quitting office and must be replaced by someone from the BJP or any NDA ally who is sensible and sensitive to woes and worries of mothers and children.

“It is to be condemned strongly that the UP Government tries to cover up their administrative failures of clearing the dues of oxygen cylinder suppliers in spite of repeated requests and reminders. They are trying to hide behind illogical and unsubstantiated arguments.

The fact that the authorities couldn't provide ambulance to take the dead bodies of the innocent “martyred “children to their homes proves how much inhuman they are. It is a shame that this happens in a state where ambulances in abundance are available to carry cows to any part of the state.

The removal of the Child specialist Dr. Kafeel Ahmed Khan from Nodal Officer post and his transfer shows the extreme insensitivity and bias of the administration and political leadership. He has committed the “crime” of going beyond routine official line and arranging oxygen cylinders using own money and influences. He has been rewarded for his humanitarian initiative in the Yogi style.

Our irony is that we have a prime minister who finds time tweet on anything under the sky but kept mum on the Gorakhpur tragedy. He made a mere passing reference of the incident in the Independence Day speech and disappointed millions of the countrymen who expected some concrete measures and announcements from the PM,” the statement continued.
