An appeasement budget, says Welfare Party on 2018 budget
New Delhi: 1st February, 2018. Welfare Party of India termed 2018 budget as political and appeasement budget prepared in view of the 2019 general election. Party national president Dr.S.Q.R. Ilyas in a statement said Modi government has been cheating people for the last four years with making tall promises and breaching them. "The same tactic has been followed in the new budget. Though the people have been robbed of their hard-earned money by demonetization and the nation had to witness havoc for the unplanned implementation of GST, the government treasury has benefited a lot. Now with general election in mind, Mr. Arun Jaitley is making taller promises than the earlier ones with that money. What happened to early promises should not be asked as raising questions is anti-national in Modi India. The Modi government has not explicitly made its readiness to reverse its wrong policies or to correct the damages to individuals and institutions due to demonetization or wrong implementation of GST. Corporate appeasement is visible in these budget proposals also. Government has increased allocation for minority schemes, well. But nothing, not a single word has been spelt to reinforce sense of security and safety that haunt the community horribly. Equally nothing has been told to control the right-wing extremists who have been taking law into their hands and questioning nation and its institutions. Same is the case of SC & STs. No proposals to ensure their social inclusion and provide security from caste mafia. It is nothing, but a political appeasement budget cooked in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha election, the statement continued.”
